Charters and Rates

Sailing lessons can range from basic beginning lessons for a non sailor, to cruising, to specifics of sailing a fast multihull. Alouette, being a fast, fun trimaran is still a sailboat, and is a good platform for basic sailing as well as multihull specifics. Many people come with little of no sailing experience wanting to try out the joys of multihull sailing while learning to sail. Others have sailed monohulls a lot and want to "try on" a fast boat, perhaps with the interest of acquiring a trailerable trimaran some day. We love talking about sailing, sailboats, and especially F-boats. So most lessons include much free "talk time" over lunch, either on the boat or on shore.

Combining sailing lessons with a 1 - 3 day skippered charter is a very popular combination. And always, what we do is customized for what you want and need.

Chartering Alouette

We offer Alouette mainly as a skippered charter, but limited bareboat options are available to those who qualify (Must have significant F-boat experience, and at least 1day with skipper aboard.) Skippered charter means that it is your boat to sail, but a qualified skipper is on board to help you learn the boat, and to insure the safety of the boat and all aboard. This works quite well for those with sailing experience, but little of no F-boat experience. It allows you to take the boat without an extensive checkout, maximizing your time sailing to a destination while learning the boat.

1. Look over this web site carefully, choose your charter date and length of charter, and call or e-mail us to check availability, and to discuss the options for your personal charter. We are flexible, and can usually customize a charter specific to your needs.
2. Complete and submit charter application and sailing resume by mail, along with a deposit check.
3. Pay the full charter fee plus security deposit prior to boarding. If paid the day of boarding, payment must be in cleared funds.

Price may be adjusted for charters either shorter or longer than these times by more than 2 hours.

More Charter Information

1. All charters leave from Squalicum Harbor, Bellingham, WA. (See directions page.)
2. Your charter will officially commence at the above stated time unless other arrangements have been made.
3. But plan to arrive at the boat at least 1 hour early for briefing and preparation.
4. Plan on reading the Owner's Notes carefully before arriving for your charter.
5. Plan on returning the boat clean with holding tank empty and fuel tanks full (mostly).

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel more then 30 days before the starting date of your charter, we will immediately refund all monies received, less 20% of scheduling deposit. Cancellation less then 30 days before your charter date will result in forfeiture of 2/3 of the scheduling deposit. All other monies will be refunded immediately.

Our Guarantee

If your charter is interrupted due to any problem with the boat not caused by you, and we are unable to make repairs in a reasonable time, you will be compensated for all lost time. We are committed to your having a good charter experience with us.
