The charter guest is responsible for the following:
- sleeping bag (light weight is best for the summer months)
- waterproof bivi bag if you want to sleep out on the net under the stars (Alouette has a small 2 person tent that fits on the net)
- your own pillow if you are fussy about that (Alouette has 4 small, decorator pillows that we can supply pillow cases for)
- towel and washcloth
- personal toiletries
- clothing appropriate for temperatures ranging from 50 degrees - 85 degrees. Plan layers
- wind-breaker
- swimming suit (heated swimming pools and hot tubs available at popular destinations)
- rain gear (any will do - it need not be expensive)
- gloves (both for warmth and hand protection while handling lines)
- sunglasses, sunscreen
- non marking soft soled shoes (shoes that will not leave black marks on the deck)
- warm cap and sun hat (you may need both on 1 trip, even on 1 day)
- waterproof footwear and/or a change of shoes
- ear plugs if you are a light sleeper (boats can be noisy at night, especially with several people aboard)
- food and drinks for your length of charter (Alouette has salt, pepper, instant coffee, tea, some water, and some snack food aboard for guest use)
Plan to pack everything except sleeping bag and food in one soft duffle bag. Do not use anything rigid such as a suitcase, frame pack, or rolling travel bag. (I use a 28" X 18" duffle bag. If it won't fit in the duffle - it doesn't go!)
